This list is done in a 1-10 order but it doesn’t mean that I thin that #1 is better then number #10. I selected the works to go through a cross section of media and aspect of Mormon culture and doctrine. The works need to be about Mormons but not necessarily by Mormons
1. New York Doll, (Film) directed by Greg Whiteley
2. Come Come Yea Saints, (Song) by William Clayton Performed by The Mormon Tabernacle Choir
3. The Shape of Things (Film/Play) Directed/written by Neil Labute
4. The Plan (Rock Opera) The Osmond Brothers
5. Lost Boys (Novel) by Orson Scott Card
6. Recollections of a Hand Cart Pioneer of 1860: A Women’s life on the Mormon Frontier (Autobiography) By Mary Ann Hafen
7. Three Mormon Towns (Photography) By Dorathea Lange
8. The Angel Moroni (Sculpture) by Avard Fairbanks
9. Nativity (Painting) by Brian Kershinsnik
10. The Manti Temple (Building) designed by William Harrison Folsom
I think to of the best books on Mormon art are People of Paradox: A History of Mormon Culture and Writer in Zion by Orson Scott Card.
